Verna Faye (Grimmius) Clark's five-year battle with a chronic illness ended peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Our House Hospice in Slayton, MN. Verna's story began in Slayton on August 18, 1949, born to Ben and Josie (Olivier) Grimmius alongside twin sister and constant companion Verla. She was raised on a farm north of Hadley where she developed her strong work ethic. She attended Lowville Country School and Slayton High School where she graduated in 1967. On November 20, 1981, she married the love of her life, Jerry Clark. The couple raised their twin daughters on a beautiful acreage south of Slayton. Verna had a variety of jobs in her lifetime but spent more than thirty years working at Golden Living Center in Slayton where her personality and caring heart really shined. No other place did her heart shine through more than when it came to helping to raise nieces, nephews and especially grandchildren like they were her own. She was constantly putting their needs before hers, but always with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was easy to please and enjoyed flower gardening, going on outings with her twin sister and best friend Verla, spending time with family and friends, especially her ten grandchildren. She was always ready to "put the pot on" for a cup of coffee for all but most often with her dear friend Kathy Kor. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Slayton where she belonged to Ladies Aide and served morning coffee.

Verna will be deeply missed and remembered by her husband Jerry, their children, Jessica Clark of Slayton, Jennifer and Eric Fritz of White Bear Lake, MN, and Ben and Tristan Senenfelder of Esko, MN, ten grandchildren, Ashlyn, Connor, Ava, Spencer, Ann, Aiden, Hattie, Lindy, Harper and Max, two siblings Gaylen "Keith" Grimmius of Norco, CA, and Verla Bakke of Slayton, sister-in-law Marsha Grimmius of Hanley Falls, MN, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Marvin, Norman and Ronnie Grimmius, nephew, Alan Clark, mother-in-law Mildred Clark and father-in-law Roy Clark. A private service will take place at the Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler, MN.
