Thomas Lawrence West, age 78, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Born at Pine Bluff on April 26, 1943, he was a son of the late Lawrence Wesley West and Mary Bell Ashcraft West.

He graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1961 and served in the Arkansas National Guard for six years.

Mr. West worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad for 41 years as a carman and welder. He retired in 2004.

Mr. and Mrs. West moved to Mt. Ida in 2002 and then to Russellville in 2019. In Mt. Ida, they were members of Lake Ouachita Baptist Church and Baker's Creek Baptist Church in Russellville. For many years, they were members of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, William Jackson West and Wesley Eugene West.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Sue Temple West, whom he married on June 14, 1963 at Star City; his children, Kenneth "Kenny" West (Rachel) of Bismarck and Stacey West Paris (Billy) of Russellville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday, October 7, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Brown Cemetery with Brother Jeff Temple officiating.

The family will greet friends under the pavilion beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
