Born July 29, 1946, in White Lake, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Bowling and Nola Stamper Bowling. Mabel was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Kidd on December 20, 1992; her second husband, Glenn Flannery on December 16, 2000; a daughter, Norma Jean Kidd; a brother, Thomas Bowling; a sister, Barbara Jean Trent; and a grandson, Ronnie Kelsey.
Mabel is survived by three sons, Robert (Tonya) Kidd and Dwayne Kidd, all of West Liberty and Noah Kidd of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Christy Kidd of Owingsville and Joyce Ann Kelsey of Morehead; ten grandchildren, Brian Kidd, Vanessa Kidd, Jared Kidd, Derek Kidd, Michael Kelsey, Ryan Kidd, Jordan Kidd, Reagan Kidd, Haley Gilliam, and Levi Burriss; one great grandchild, Rebel Laine Kidd; a stepson, Curtis (Sherrie) Flannery of Muncie, Indiana; and two stepdaughters, Marilyn Cobb of Indiana and Jennifer (Michael) Robinette of Catlettsburg.
Other survivors include three brothers, Wallace (Eileen) Bowling of Hamilton, Ohio, James Michael Bowling of Morehead, and Edgar (Linda) Bowling of Walton, Kentucky; five sisters, Della Mae Maddix of White Lake, Wisconsin, Cleo Church of Morehead, Darlene Jamason of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Martha Cox of Sandy Hook and Susie (Delbert) Jennings of Morehead; an aunt, Beulah Oatman; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Mabel was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Kyle Burnett and Brother Fred Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Kidd Family Cemetery on Highway 711 in West Liberty.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Smedley, Lane Barker, Anthony Bowling, Chris Gilliam, David Gilliam, and Ryan Kidd.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
