James A. Finch, 69, of Hamilton, beloved husband, father, and papa, passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with lymphoma on Oct 4, 2021at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.

He was born in Utica, the son of the late Lester J. and Valerie Williams Finch.

He graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School, class of 1970 and MVCC 1972. James also attended the University Central Florida. Jim was employed by NY State starting at CNYPC and retired from OMRDD as Chief at Valley Ridge in Norwich. He loved hunting, golfing, cruising around the lake on his boat, and most of all, watching his cherished grandchildren at their various activities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diane; his two daughters and their spouses, Amanda and Chuck Lydon of South Carolina, Rebecca and Mark McFarland of Clinton; four beloved grandchildren, Chloe Martin-Lydon, Charlie Lydon, Garrett and Parker McFarland; his sister, Jan Marie LoGalbo and her daughters Lisa and Carrie and their families; his mother and father in law, Edward and Monica Hage; his sisters in law, Donna (Mike) Morris and Janet Bednarz; niece, Claudia Morris; and nephews, Michael Morris, Christopher and Nicholas Bednarz.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Valerie; his brother in law, Joe LoGalbo; and his son in law, Paul Martin.
