Samuel Morgan Miller, age 71, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.

Samuel was born on January 19, 1950, in Buncombe County to the late James Chester Miller and Lillian Burgin Miller.

Samuel was a wonderful husband and father and a blessing to all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith and he served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting and fishing. His family was everything to him and his wife and children were the joy of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Miller, Jr.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Burnett Miller; three sons, Samuel A. (Sara) Miller of Black Mountain, Daniel M. (Tracy) Miller of Swannanoa, and Rick ( Dale) Matayabas of Black Mountain; two daughters, Rachel Miller and Sarah Miller, both of Black Mountain; a brother, James A. (Teresa) Miller of Old Fort, NC; four grandchildren, Samantha Lone of NY, NY, Sultana Lone of Black Mountain, Lilly Miller of Swannanoa, and Hunter Matayabas of Marion, NC; and too many to mention, but we love as our own.

The family will announce a Celebration of Samuel's life at a later date.
