Carolyn was a homemaker until her children were in school, then she worked at Singing River Hospital in admissions. She moved to Atlanta, TX in 1971 where she worked at Atlanta Memorial Hospital. She always called Mississippi her home and after retirement, she returned with her husband.
Carolyn was a member of Escatawpa Baptist Church where she was actively involved. She loved to fellowship with Christian friends and enjoyed visiting shut-ins and those in nursing homes. She spent many summer days and holidays with her family in Florida and with her children in Texas. Due to her health, she moved back to Texas to be cared for by her children in 2020 and remained until her death.
Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Davis; son, Tony L. Davis of Bangor, ME; and daughter, Karen Jill May of Columbus, TX.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Davis and wife, Jane, of Atlanta, TX, Kathy Luce and husband, Bill, of Queen City, TX, and Joey Davis of McCloud, TX; sister, Syble Wooten of Spanish Fort, AL; eleven grandchildren and twelve great –grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and special family friends, Shirley Graham and family.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point, MS and will be officiated by Pastor Matt Morse. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn's family requests donations be made to Escatawpa Baptist Church, 7101 Highway 613, Moss Point, MS 39563, or to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
