Nancy Hamilton Ward, 92, moved from her earthly home in Richmond, VA to her heavenly home May 28, 2021. She now lives gloriously in the presence of Jesus Christ, her Savior.
Nancy was born to the late Hoyle and Helen Hamilton, October 26,1928 in Burlington, North Carolina, where she graduated from Burlington High School.
After graduation from Mars Hill College, she married her faithful husband, the late Frank Lee Ward. They lived in Burlington and Asheboro before relocating to High Point where they raised their family and humbly served the Lord Jesus through Green Street Baptist Church.
Nancy served as receptionist and financial secretary for Green Street Baptist Church for 25 years. She had immeasurable investment in the lives of families at Green Street, caring for their little ones as preschool coordinator.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband Frank, her parents, and her beloved sister, Jean Sinclair.
She is survived by sons Charles Ward and wife Dawn of Richmond, VA, Ronald Ward and wife Kelly who reside in Central Asia, grandchildren Chris Ward and wife Heather, Matt Ward and wife Tiffany, Amy Johannsen and husband Kyle, Ben Ward, Cole Ward, Drew Ward and great-grandchildren James and Jonathan Ward.
Nancy loved her family deeply and was affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren, and Granna to her great-grandchildren. She provided many acts of care for Ron's family serving overseas. Her dear friends were a blessing to her and she to them.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, 11:00 am, at Green Street Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. A private family graveside service will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NC.
