Mr. Jimmie Lee Lyons


Jimmie Lee Lyons was born on August 31, 1036 to the late Arizona Lyons and Sarah Laster Lyons. To their union seven children were born and Jimmie was the fifth child. Jimmie transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal destination on September 30, 2021 at the Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Jimmie professed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Prosperity during his time of residency in Murfreesboro, TN. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dora Mai Lyons; brothers, Samuel M. Lyons and Burnice Lyons; sister in law, Sallie Lyons Camp; brothers in law, John Fowler, Queen Harris and Rufus Carson. He entered the United States Army January 24, 1955 and completed Basic Combat Training March 30, 1955. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX and Fort Knox, KY; and had combat tours in US Army Pacific Command Korea and US Army Pacific Command Vietnam. His awards include: the National Defense service medal, Good Conduct medal, Combat Infantry badge, Army Commendation medal, Vietnam Service medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal and Expert Rifle badge. On retirement he had achieved the rank of E-7 SFC (Sergeant First Class).

Jimmie will be missed but left lasting memories for his daughters: Sarah Walker of Waco, Texas, Carrie Nicole Lyons Neal (Vernon Neal) of Crowley, Texas and Ella Renae Lyons of Crowley, Texas; three sisters, Willie Fowler, Fannie Carson and Frances Harris, all of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Mijon McDowell, Dala Neal, Anthony Eastland, Tyrell Eastland, Jasmine Law; great grandchildren: Dynim Williams, Jah'Prosper Johnson, Erimi Johnson, Zakari Mathis, ZaRiyah Mathis, D'Mia Green, Mckenzeigh Eastland; best bonus son ever, Tony Clouse; intermittent caregiver and legal confidant, Suzanne Wheeler; dedicated and love drive nephew, Retired CSM Samuel I. (Pamela) Lyons and dear and devoted nieces and nephew, Cynthia (Edgar) Wilsn and Burnes (Ava) Lyons; nieces and nephews: Anita Pittman, Schalanda (Carlton) Wells, Vickie (Kevin) Daley, Gail (Doug) Jordan, Gabriel (Danyale) Lyons, Veronica Lyons, Terrance (Angela) Lyons and Schrelle Lyons; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention by name.
