Professional Soccer Player. Sabás Ponce Labastida was a Mexican footballer who played in the position of attacking midfielder. He played for Club Deportivo Guadalajara almost his entire career, winning 18 championships. He started in the Inter-Parish League of the State of Jalisco, from where he joined the youth reserve of the Club Deportivo Guadalajara at 15 years of age. At 17 he made his debut with the first team and was part of the 'Campeonísimo' (an annual Mexican football competition). He achieved the title of champion of the Mexican First Division on 8 occasions with the Club Deportivo Guadalajara, with José Villegas being the players with the most Mexican soccer championships. He also won the 'Champion of Champions' seven times, two Copa MX and one 'Champion of Champions' of Copa MX. In addition, he had international participation with Gudalajara, in the Concacaf Cup (now the Concacaf Champions League) in 1962. Sábas Ponce played from 1956 to 1970.
