Enjoyed working on cars, fishing and hunting
Matthew T. Potter, 64, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on May 1, 1957, he was a son of the late Sidney Potter and Pearl (Zehner) Nievus. He attended Berwick-area schools.
Matthew worked at Berwick Offray, and RAD Wood Products.
He liked to buy scratch-offs and play cards. He also enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and hunting.
He will be greatly missed by his companion, Cheryl Lynn, at home; daughter, Richelle Myers and husband Jr, Nescopeck; son, Steve Potter, Nescopeck; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sadie, Hunter, Kassidy, Payton, and Cameron. He also leaves behind brothers, Mark Potter, Orangeville, Marshall Potter and companion Katrina Hanko, Berwick, Michael Potter and companion Linda Maisey, Nescopeck, Joseph Potter, York, Charles Potter, York; sisters, Susan Peterson and husband Carl, Florida, Sylvia DelGrippo and husband Anthony, Hughesville, Sydney Durvin and companion Jeff Clark, Virginia, Sherry Akins and husband Jim, Tamaqua, Carrie Potter, York, Virginia Collins and husband Scott, Berwick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Potter, in 2016; sister, Sally Potter; brother, Ronald Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at 6 p.m., at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help defray his final expenses.
