OPELOUSAS ~ Anna Joyce Miller, age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at her home. She was a native of Lawtell, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Opelousas, Louisiana.

She was raised in Lawtell by her parents, Arthur and Josephine Faul Richard, who preceded her in death.

Anna attended cosmetology school and after graduating eventually opened her own salon. She later graduated as an LPN from T.H. Harris, and in 1984 graduated from LSU Eunice with a degree in Nursing. She pursued her passion in nursing by caring for oncology patients and the elderly.

She enjoyed many hobbies, including floral arranging and antiquing. Her tenacity and caring heart served as an inspiration for her many nieces and nephews. She will be eternally missed by all whose lives she touched.

Survivors include her only daughter, Allison Miller and her beloved granddaughter, Brianna Miller. Her loving dedication to Allie and Bre was immeasurable.

Other survivors include one brother, Gurvis Richard of Port Barre; two sisters, JoeAnn LeBas of Lawtell and Janice Olivier of Church Point; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, AJ Phillips of Opelousas; two sisters, Eura Matte of New Orleans and Shirley Pitre of Lawtell; and one brother, Apton Richard of Lawtell.
