Daughter of R C and Louise Dawson. The family moved back to Decatur where she attended East Side Elementary followed by graduating in 1965 from Fred Moore High School in Denton. She studied pharmacology at Texas Southern University in Houston as a part of East Side Alumni/Scholarship Foundation. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, serving as secretary, treasurer, announcement clerk, kitchen coordinator, contemporary pianist and any other position she was needed. She was a long-time employee of Six Flags Over Texas Administrative Staff in Arlington. She retired from Wise County Jail System in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Weldon Dawson; maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Katherine Walker Lowry, Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Mack and Irene Dawson. She is survived by her son, Keith Dawson of Decatur; his grandson, Edward Hill and wife, Tasha of Trenton of Trenton, and great-grandson, Ashton Hill of Kerrville; his two brothers, Donald McDade of Denton, and Ronald McDade and wife, Ramona of Lewisville; his sister, Tammy Harris of Pilot Point; and nieces and nephews, Quenton Dawson, Juitana Dawson Kelley, Jennifer Dawson, Spenser McDade, Ashley Johnson, Erica Holmes, Sidney Proctor, Ronalsha McDade, Micah McDade, and Kendall Alvarado.
