Ronald Leon Morgan, son of the late Seaous Morgan and Magnolia Morgan, and foster child of Edward and Ora Morgan Webb, was born September 9, 1952.

Ronald joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wendell, NC, at an early age. He played the organ and piano and served most of his younger years as one of the church's musicians.

Ronald was educated at Carver Elementary School, Richard B. Harrison High School, and graduated from James E. Shepard High School. He also attended St. Augustine's College (now University).

During his young adult life, Ronald played the organ professionally with famous jazz, soul, and rhythm & blues bands. Without question, James Brown was his favorite artist, and he had the opportunity to share the same stage. You could often hear him singing and playing, "It's a Man's World". Ronald also played for weddings and other events.

During his middle and later years, Ronald's health began to decline. Despite his disability, he never lost his since of humor. His teasing, joking, and laughing were infectious; a conversation with Ronald always included laughter. He was a gentle spirit and had impeccable manners. Without question, Ronald was the most polite individual you could ever encounter.

Left to cherish his memory are: brother, Sidney Morgan (Suzanne); sister, Constance Morgan; brother, Frankie Carpenter (Olivia); a special nephew, Trae Morgan; beloved nieces and nephews, Leslye Faison (Monty), Janice Harris, Montoria Faison, Candra Morgan, Sheila Scarborough, Russell Morgan (Jillian), Frankie Carpenter, Jr. (Jennis), Trae Morgan, and Lexton Faison; a special friend, James Henry Bogar, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
