After graduating from Malvern High School in 1970, Steve enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served for 8.5 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his completion of military service, Steve earned a degree in Business Management from Henderson State University. He owned and operated a successful business, Circle R Enterprises, Inc. which focused on municipal sales and supplies.
Steve married the love of his life, Jean Ann Burrow Reed, on December 23, 1972. They went on to have three children, Leslie, Jenna, and Phillip. The brightest and most joyful part of his life was his nine grandchildren, whom he spoiled as much as possible.
In addition to being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and watching his grandchildren play sports and other activities. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan.
Steve joins his mother, Helen Strawn Reed, in Heaven.
He is survived by his father, George Reed of Malvern, his wife of nearly 49 years, Jean Ann, his sister, Shirley (Ken) Everright of Hot Springs, his children, Leslie (Troy) Huna of Rogers, MN, Jenna (Daniel) Havlik of Perry, AR, Phillip (Tiffany) Reed, of Sheridan, and his grandchildren, Kylie Reed, Kasen, Kolton, and Konnor Huna, Lawson and Landry Reed, Liam Ryals, and Harper and Hayes Havlik.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 7, at 10 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, with Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. Gary Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery in Malvern, AR, at 12 PM. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 6, from 6-8 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Pallbearers will be Orville Corbitt, Jim Henley, Robert Porterfield, Dewayne Henley, Ryan Henley, and K.C. Reed. Honorary Pallbearers are the Round Table Crew.
