Mary Kathryn Manning of Doylestown, left her earthly body and was called home to be with her mother and father, whom she loved dearly, in heaven on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Mary was 70 years old.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Manning Jr. and mother, Katie (Mehring) Manning, also of Doylestown.
Mary is survived by her brother, Joseph Martin Manning and his wife, Linda Ann (Whelan) Manning of Warminster; her nephew, Joseph Patrick Manning, his wife, Lindsey and their children, Gary, Gwendolyn and Logan; her nephew, Andrew John Manning and her niece, Collen Ann Manning.
In her younger years, Mary would love to garden with her mother. They would diligently tend to their vegetables and what they did not use or share with others would be canned to ensure none of the love and care put into their cultivation would be wasted. Gardening would become an avocation Mary continued to find joy in perpetually.
Mary went on to attend Central Bucks High School where she would graduate in 1968 with a focus in fine art. Her love of art carried through the rest of her life ranging in various applications.
Mary is what most could consider a Jill of all trades. Never afraid to get her hands dirty or learn something new, she wore many hats over the years. Aside from her signature beret, Mary wore the hat of bookkeeper, secretary, painter, landlord, artist and caregiver, to name a few. She eventually found her calling working as the office manager alongside her brother at his company, Frater's Electric, where she will be remembered for her dedication and warm demeanor. She will surely be missed as the smiling first impression to all that entered.
Mary was an active member of The Ladies of Mount Carmel where she would enjoy helping in various facets of their many events. She also enjoyed the theater and held memberships to many of the local theater companies.
Mary was a kind soul with only the best interests at mind for those that found their way into her heart. She always put her family and friends first and would do anything to make sure those she loved were happy and safe. Her unfettered love for her family and those close to her heart fueled her passion for life. To Mary, family was not just an important thing, it was everything. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass, at 11 a.m., Friday, October 8 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 10 until 10:45 a.m. The family will also greet guests from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 7 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will be private.
