Interment will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Al was born in Virginia on November 1, 1933 to the late Austin and Essie Martin.
He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Goldsboro and retired as a MSGT in the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanne Martin; three sons, David Kyle Martin of Apex, Craig Stephen Martin and wife, Shannon of Pittsboro and Jeffrey Scott Martin of the home; three grandchildren, Drew, Chase and Kaela; one brother, Steve Martin and three sisters, Sheila and husband, Harold, Linda and Bertha.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, Sonny, George Lee, Oscar Jesse "OJ", Jerry and Kenny Martin and two sisters, Elizabeth and Caroline.
