Harold L. Butz

U.S. VeteranHarold L. Butz, 69, of Stroud Township, died Thursday afternoon, January 23, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Born on March 30, 1944 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Clyde H. and Vivian A. (Doll) Butz and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School and was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army.
In earlier years Harold worked for Pepsi Cola and Banner Metals. Later he owned and operated the Tannersville Laundry Mat and currently drove for Monroe County Transit Authority's Pocono Pony shared ride program.
He enjoyed old cars and going to car shows with his Corvair convertible, Corvair pick-up truck and Hurst/Olds. Harold was a former member of the Monroe County Cruisers.
Surviving are a son, Heath M. Butz and his wife Jennifer of Neola; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Jessica Butz; a sister-in-law, Gale Butz of Stroudsburg; and three nephews, David Butz, Dale Butz and Daniel Butz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sherdon C. Butz on January 4, 1999.
There will be a viewing from 7:00 to 8:30PM on Monday, January 27, and from 9:00 to 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 28, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 10:00AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Todd Glasmire officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
The family requests that memorial remembrances be made to Miller-Keystone Blood Center, 1465 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
