Marguerite L. "Peggy" Trexler, 86, formerly of Duncansville, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Graystone Manor of Altoona. She was born in Duncansville, a daughter of the late Harry B. and Alverta (Oaks) Davis.

She married Alfred James Trexler on Dec. 30, 1953, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2008.

Surviving are four children: Linda (Don) Filby of Altoona, Susan Mielnik of Altoona, Dr. Ellen (Dr. Maria Lopez) Trexler of Ormond Beach, Fla., and James (Beth) Trexler of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Jennifer (Jerry) Smith, Christina DeGennaro, Chad (Jennifer) Holsinger, Paul (Krystine) Mannhaupt, Dr. Debi (Brian) Mannhaupt-Smith, Mark (Angela) Franks, Matt (Cammie) Franks,

Jennifer Carr and Christian (Lori) Mielnik; 20 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Matt Smith, Laney, Leah and Dillon DeGennaro, Hazel, Chase, Harper, Kegan, Cameron and Adam Franks, Liam, Lillie and Ashlyn Mannhaupt, Liam Holsinger, Logan Williams, Kade Norris, Ben Carr and Caitlin and Emily Mielnik; a great-great-grandson, Jace Norris; and two sisters, Cleora Winegardner and Esther Potter.

She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Almeda Diehl, Evelyn Treese, Ruth Turner, Janet Holmes and Jack, Vernon "Dutch," Robert, Kenneth and Curtis Davis; and a son-in-law, Steve Mielnik.

Peggy was a 1954 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from Mercy Hospital, Altoona, where she worked in the physical therapy department.

She was an avid member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the quilters.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 3 p.m. Celebration of Life service Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, officiated by Pastor Jaime G. Olson, at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.
