Frances "Fannie" Sproul was the daughter of William Sproul and Susannah J Ewing. She married Thomas Thompson. Apparently, the Wm Sproul bible states she was born one year earlier, on 29 Jan 1786 and died in 1867.

On the 1850 District 2, Augusta Co., VA census, I found farmers Thomas Thompson, 69; William Thompson, 32; James Thompson, 28; John Thompson, 23; female FRANCES Thompson, 63 and Jane McCurdy, 24, all VA born.

On the 1860 District 1, Augusta Co., VA census, I found farmer William Thompson, 40; farmer James E Thompson, 35; John Thompson, 32; Esteline Thompson, 26 and FANNIE Thompson, 73, all VA born.

1)1902, the Glebe Inscriptions on the farm of Thomas Thompson did not include a marker for Frances Thompson. Thomas was included. (Lyman Chalkley's The Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia: 1745 to 1800, Vol. 2, p 394-5).

2)1934, Per the VA. D.A.R., Col. Thomas Hughart Chapter (Staunton), stones copied by Major W.A. Murphy & compiled by Mrs. W.W. King's Glebe Burying Ground, 1749, Augusta Co., VA, published in 1934, 12 pages. "FRANCES THOMPSON Born Jan. 29, 1787 Died Nov. 30, 1867."

3) 1938, James W. McClung's 5 Mar 1938 Works Progress Administration of VA Historical Inventory #352, for Glebe Burying Ground. It says there are about 50 here but only 12 could be deciphered. #16 says:

Francis (with an I) Thompson, a white female died Nov 1867, aged 81 years, line "5028" in Augusta Co., VA (Abstract of Augusta County, VA Death Registers, 1853 - 1896, compiled by Margaret C Reese, 1983, Athens, GA page 121).
