Allen John Croasmun, 59, of Meadowlands, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in his home.

He was born November 15, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, a son of Virginia Jones of Waynesburg and the late Dallas J. Croasmun.

Mr. Croasmun served in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era.

He worked as a miner for 40 years and attended classes at Penn State for mining and engineering.

Mr. Croasmun was a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his yard, going to flea markets and the beach, working on vintage cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

On April 9, 1977, he married Nancy Carnahan, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Nora (Steve) Clark of Jefferson and Amy (John T. Jr.) Mruk of Meadowlands; two brothers, Dallas (Janet) Croasmun of Waynesburg and Richard (Peg) Croasmun of Seward; a sister, Virginia Ross of Windber; and five grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, Dennis Croasmun, and his stepfather, Charles Thornton.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 25th, with Pastor David Goodin officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
