David Warren Barnes, 64, of Lampasas, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at his residence in Lampasas.

Visitation will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

David "Super Dave" Barnes was born on May 20, 1957, in Richmond, Vermont. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy for 6 years as a Torpedo Tech. After his time in the military, he began his career as a truck driver, which he loved. He was a single dad to his son and was very dedicated to making sure his child was well taken care of and had everything he could give him. He enjoyed cooking out and having beers with family and friends, watching WWE wrestling, cars, watching shows on refurbishing cars, and proudly attended a WWE Royal Rumble.

He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Worrell, and step-mom, June Worrell.

Survivors include his son, Jonahthan Barnes, and wife, Schae; brothers, Barron Barnes, and wife, Lola, Steve Barnes and wife, Mona, Eddie Barnes and wife, Liz; sister, Robin Johnson; step-brother, Irving Tompkins and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Jude, Journey, Madyson, Maicy; nieces, Alexiia, Marianne; nephews, Eddie, Jr. (Little Eddie), Lewis Daniel, Lily, Tim, and Peter.
