Mrs. Stella McNair McDaniel, age 74 of Soperton passed away on Saturday afternoon, October 2, 2021 while under the care of Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Born in Toombs County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Frances Braddy McNair. She grew up in Center and was a graduate of Toombs County High School. Soon after high school she started a long career in the Textile Industry; working at Oxford Industries where she met her future husband, William Elmo McDaniel. They would marry in 1967. The newlyweds made their first home in Soperton before moving to the Lothair Community in the late 1970s. Mrs. McDaniel continued to work as a Machine Operator for J.P. Stevens and Forstmann's before retiring in the late 2000's.

She had been a member of the Center United Methodist Church before moving her membership with her husband to Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. McDaniel enjoyed fishing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, time spent with her grandchildren, and keeping the roads hot (while not going anywhere particular).

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband who passed away in September of 1998, a daughter, Luci McDaniel Dalby, a son, Ricky McDaniel and a brother, Benny Ray McNair.

She leaves behind her children, Sue Cauley (Dan), Lothair Community of Soperton, Lisa Phillips (William Tanner), Wrightsville, GA, Christy Brinson (Davis), Zaidee Community of Soperton, GA, Gilbert McDaniel (Gail), Mt. Vernon, GA, Lawana Newsome (Dwight), Mt. Vernon, GA, sisters, Joyce Overstreet, Dean McDonald, Lorine Loyd, Nellie McCranie and Darlene McNair, all of Vidalia, GA, grandchildren, Mindy Cauley, Bryant Phillips, C. J. Brinson, Mallory Lewis, Miranda Phillips, Alston Phillips, Leo Brinson and Maya Brinson, great grandchildren, Sofie Lewis and Addilyn Lewis as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from the graveside in Red Bluff Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel will be laid to rest beside her husband.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, at the graveside or may call at the home of her granddaughter, Miranda Phillips.
