Barbara was born on May 25, 1941, in Rayville, Louisiana, and passed away on October 2, 2021, in Farmerville, Louisiana.

She graduated from Columbia High School as valedictorian of her class. After graduation, Barbara attended Harding University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. She went to work as a home economist for Louisiana Power and Light and Washington Natural Gas Company. Barbara went back to school to receive her elementary certification from Memphis State University, her Master's plus 30, and her reading specialist from Louisiana Tech University. She retired as an educator after 48 years of service.

On October 3, 1964, Barbara married Barrett Fisher and took great pride in being his wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Her family was her world. She was a member of Crossroads Church of Christ. She taught Bible classes for 50 years with various Churches of Christ.

After retirement, Barbara loved "running the roads" and having lunch with family and friends. She got special joy in visiting friends in assisted living and nursing homes, volunteering for church work, and going to Disney World with her grandson, every year. Barbara's grandson, Koty, was her heart of hearts. He came to live with her when he was 3 years old.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Barrett Fisher; son, Cam Barrett Fisher; parents, Jack and Ina Hollis.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Susan Anding and husband Greg of Tyler, TX; son, David Fisher and wife Norma Barker of Farmerville, LA; grandson, Koty Fisher and fiancée Savanah Arnold of West Monroe, LA; granddaughters, Taelyn and Elaina Fisher of Farmerville; brother, Jerry Hollis of Ponca City, OK; her best friend and counselor, Joyce McIntosh of Monroe, LA.

The family would like to express our gratitude to Norma for her dedicated care of our mother.

Memorials may be made in Barbara's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the library at Highland Elementary, or River Cities Humane Society for Cats.
