Raymond A. "Ray" Parker, 94, of Hernando, FL and W. Chatham, MA passed away September 14, 2021 under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.

Ray was born on May 6, 1927 in Waltham, MA, to the late C. Joseph and Dorothy (Gillespie) Parker. He came to Citrus County 40 years ago from West Chatham, MA.

Ray served his country in the US Army during WWII and retired as Vice President of the Optics Division of Itek Corp. He attended Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, FL when in Florida. He summered in West Chatham, MA and attended Brewster Baptist Church in Brewster, MA when in Massachusetts. He enjoyed building model ships and carved duck buoys, and loved 50's music. Ray loved his family; he was a good husband and enjoyed golfing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 72 years, Florence Parker; his children, Douglas Avard Parker and his wife, Jane, of Bonita Springs, FL and Cindy E. Parker of Massachusetts; his cherished grandchildren, Jason A. Parker and his wife, Cara and Bradford A. Parker and his wife, Allison; and his adored great-grandchildren, Chase, Noah, and Kennedy.

Graveside services for Ray will be conducted on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Full military honors will be rendered. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
