June 18, 1952 - August 11, 2021 Roy was born June 18, 1952 in Snyder Texas to Jessie James and Arlene (Freeman) James. Roy grew up in Fontana, California. He was an athlete who played baseball and was on the Fontana High School dive team. After graduating Roy became a very skilled lather and commercial carpenter. He worked all over California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona passing his knowledge and skills on to his son and the next generations of carpenters. Many knew him as "Cowboy Roy". He enjoyed horse riding, camping and cooking over an open fire. He loved a good pair of boots and a good hat to match. Roy had embraced a wonderful group of friends during his time in Arkansas but traveling seemed to be in Roy's blood and he was looking forward to his next adventure in Idaho with his children and grandchildren Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Arlene, his brother John, and his wife Patsy. Roy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Duane and LeAnna James of Sagle, Idaho; his daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Jess Baugh of Riggins, Idaho; his brother Jessie James JR and wife Joyce of Fontana, California. And his sister Alice James Matthiesen and husband of Auburn, Washington. He is also survived by grandchildren Silas and Kyla James, Renea Holland Baugh, Brant and Peyton Baugh. And great grandson Greyson. "Oh the last goodbye is the hardest to say, and this is where the cowboy rides away."
