Acelebration of the life of Jesse Edward Jones, Jr., 91, of Willowick, will be at 11 AM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Nottingham Baptist Church, 2921 Bishop Road, Willoughby Hills.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby and also from 10 - 11 AM on Friday, prior to the service at the Church.Jesse was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.Born October 17, 1929 in Bald Hill, PA he has lived in Lake County since 1958.He was a member of Nottingham Baptist Church . His Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He spent a great deal of time teaching Sunday School and was willing to fill in where needed. He was a kind man who loved and trusted God throughout his life. He served others humbly, generously and graciously.Moving to Ohio in 1958, he worked for a small machine shop until finding a career as a pipe fitter at The Lubrizol Corporation, at the Painesville plant, retiring in 1986.Jesse spent time at Missionary Acres in Silva, Missouri, where he assisted retired missionaries wherever he was needed. Moving back to Ohio, he found enjoyment fixing lawn mowers and worked part-time at the former H & H Cycle in Eastlake. During his lifetime, Jesse was active playing softball and participating in Senior Olympics.Survivors are his wife of 23 years, Brenda A. (Wilson) Jones; children, Patricia Williams, Janet (Blaine) Allison, Mark Jones, Douglas (Kimberly) Jones and Brian (Jeanna) Jones; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Edna Nicholson.He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty in 1977. His parents, Jesse, Sr. and Elsie (Donley) Jones, son-in-law, Kevin Williams and daughter-in-law, Vanessa Jones are also deceased.Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, following the service on Friday.A special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving care during his final days and for supporting the family during this difficult time.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Jesse to the Nottingham Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 2921 Bishop Road, Willoughby Hills, OH 44092.
