Clinton Wilbur Pearson Jr., 85, a longtime resident of the Banks community, recent resident of Lake Oswego, OR died Saturday morning, January 13, 2007 at his home. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Mary's Woods Chapel; 17400 Holy Names Dr. in Lake Oswego. Burial will take place at St Francis Catholic Cemetery in Roy, OR Clinton was born on August 14 1921 in Montana. He was the oldest son of eight children born to Clinton and Bessie (White) Pearson Sr. Clinton and his family followed his fathers work to Portland, OR when he was three years old. His family settled in Portland and it was here he received his education. He served his country as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He was involved in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific theaters supplying our troops with ammunition. He was honorably discharged as a 3rd Mate in Navigation. Clinton was united in marriage to Marcella Kayl on September 11, 1948 in Portland, OR. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm in Banks, OR for 40 years were they raised their seven children. In 2001 they moved to Lake Oswego, OR. This past September, Marcella and Clinton celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary together. Clinton was a Portland Longshoreman for 35 years. He was an active and past president of the Rose City barber Shop Chapter. Clinton enjoyed singing, music, reading, gardening, animals, exploring Oregon and was an active supporter of many non-profit social organizations. He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son Jim Pearson and a sister, Patsy Radar Survivors include his wife Marcella of the family home, six children and their spouses; Tom and Lori Pearson of Forest Grove, OR, Dan Pearson of Portland, OR., Mike and Julie Pearson of Gleneden Beach, OR., Jeff and Linda Pearson of Portland, OR., John Pearson of Beaverton, OR., Mary Pearson and Lloyd MacEachern both of Portland, OR. nine grandchildren; Angela, Ed, Joe, Andrea and Lindsey Pearson, Chelsea, Amelia and Aubrey Wieber, four great grandchildren; Alicia, Zak, Xristian, and Gabriel Pearson and six siblings. The family wishes donations placed in Clinton's name to Mary's Woods Resident Fund; 17400 Holy Names Dr, Lake Oswego, OR. 97034
