Vivian Wasnich Miller, age 96, of Osseo, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Drews County Living in Hillsdale surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 8, 1925, in Reading, Michigan to Ellsworth and Mary (Carpenter) Carter. Vivian married Norval Wasnich on May 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1970. She later married Clarence Miller on September 1, 1973, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2003.
Vivian graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing in 1943. She was formerly employed at Kitty Brush and Toy in Jonesville and Farm Bureau Co-Op in Hillsdale. Vivian loved life on her family's farm. She enjoyed gardening, hunting for mushrooms, fishing, and traveling. She also was the former president of the Hillsdale Singles Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (James) Foster of Hillsdale; three sons, Lynn (Barbara) Wasnich of Osseo, Scott Wasnich of Osseo, and Randy (Linda) Wasnich of Osseo; one stepson, Keith (Judy) Wasnich of Hillsdale; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Norval and Clarence, Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; four sister, Myrtle Brown, Gladys Stafford, Vera VanBuskirk, and Mary Lou Olmstead; and four brothers, Kenneth Carter, Orva "Bud" Carter, Harley Carter, and Robert Carter.
A celebration of life for Vivian Wasnich Miller will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Private family interment will take place at Frontier Cemetery.
