MICHAEL JOSEPH KEILTY
O'Brien, Florida

Michael Joseph Keilty, 70, passed from this life to eternity with Jesus on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, FL, following a brief illness. He was born on Tuesday, August 21, 1951 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Michael J. Keilty, Sr. and Martha Maloney Keilty.

Michael graduated from Riviera Beach High School in Riviera Beach, FL in 1969. He attended Florida State University, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He went on to graduate from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy in 1976.  Michael received his certificate from the Board of Pharmacy in the State of Florida, as a Registered Pharmacist, that same year. He moved to Gainesville to work as an IV Pharmacist at Shands Hospital, then to Jacksonville, FL in 1978, where he worked at Saint Vincent Hospital.

In his younger years, Michael enjoyed skydiving at the drop zone in Fernandina Beach and Zephyrhills, and was part of an attempt for a "100 Way" World Record in Canada in 1986, having over 2,000 jumps under his belt. He excelled in every sport that he played, and also played football with the "Greenies" at FSU his freshman year.

Michael retired in December of 2018 from his position as COO, Director of Pharmacy, with Spectral Solutions in Clearwater, to fulfill his dream of moving to the country, where he enjoyed working on his home, property, and spending time with family.

Michael was able to do just about any project that he set out to do. If he didn't know how to do something he would learn how, and complete it with the utmost pride and perfection. Michael was extremely intelligent, full of compassion, love and strength. He will be remembered for so many things, but most of all his sense of humor and giving nature.

Michael was also predeceased by his sister, Cecilia Keilty Bishop, his stepmother, Margaret Lee Keilty, his paternal grandparents, Frederick Keilty and Sarah Bryan Keilty, and his maternal grandparents, Augustin Maloney and Cecilia Hoyt Maloney.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia "Patty" Mizell Keilty of O'Brien; two sons, Michael Ryan Keilty of Bangor, ME and Patrick Joseph Keilty of O'Brien; 8 siblings, Peter Keilty of Claremont, NH, Martha "Muffy" Keilty Maroney of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Patricia Quaka Portmann, Akron, OH, Mark Keilty of Houston, TX, Brian Kalay, Torrington, CT, Barbara Sullivan of North Windham, CT, Christopher Keilty of Royal Palm Beach, FL, and Margaret "Maggie" Keilty of Winsted, CT, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, 02APR2022, at the family home in O'Brien, Florida.
