Lee Vance Brooks, 76, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. James Martin and Rev. Frank Rogers. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Born January 23, 1945 in Robeson County, he was a son of the late Will and Mary Eliza Locklear Brooks.

He worked for Stanton's Barbeque for many years and was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed fishing, loved to play the guitar and sing, and was a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rebecca Williams Brooks of the home; children, Theresa Jackson of FL, Lee Vance Brooks, Jr. of Laurinburg and Kevin Brooks of Laurel Hill; brothers and sisters, Bitha Young of Ghio, Thomas Brooks of Hamlet, John Bender Brooks of Ghio, Grace Dennis of Springfield and Linda Jewel Stubbs of Rockingham; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special niece, Kelynne Williams; and dear friend, T.G. Gibson.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harley Wells Brooks and Homer Brooks; and sister, Lisa Gales.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium.
