Ronald A. Kibbey, age 83, passed peacefully at home on September 30 and is now in the loving arms of his Savior. Ron, a life-long resident of Saratoga County, was born in Albany, New York to the late Oren and Mildred (Abbott) Kibbey.

Ron graduated from Bethlehem Central High School and went to SUNY Cortland to study Physical Education and Health. He was President of the Board of Governors, captain of the gymnastics team and member of the Gamma Tau Sigma Fraternity. He received his Masters degree from SUNY Albany in 1961. Ron first taught at Margaretville Central School District, where he coached, was the Explorer Scout Master and the Senior Class Advisor. After 3 years, he transferred to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and coached soccer, wresting, baseball and track. He was a great athlete and played all types of sports: ice hockey, kayaking, softball, tennis. He enjoyed his powered parachute, sailboat and most recently his electric bike.

Having summers off as a teacher, Ron was industrious as a private contractor. He built 3 A-frame homes, in which he lived with his family. Ron was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church and was involved in many ministries throughout 31 years. He especially enjoyed mentoring others and singing solo and choir.

Ron and the love of his life, Carolyn, were married for 38 years, enjoying time with family, their faith, reading and discussing books, and traveling. They spent winters in The Villages, Florida for the last 14 years, making many friends there and playing in bocce and bowling leagues as well as playing Mexican Train (domino game) with friends.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Carolyn Bertani Kibbey. His children Timothy Kibbey (Maura) of Ellicott City, MD, Sandra Folta (Tom Wagner) of Moorestown, NJ, Michael Hoven of Amherst, NY, and Gina (Bill) Rocque of Rutland, VT. Loving grandchildren Siobhán, Nick, Tyler, Finn and Maya. His brothers, Robert (Ruby), Roger (Mary), his niece, Terry Brayton (Bob) and brother to the late Col. Richard Kibbey (Maryann). He loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments throughout their lives. He will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Ron's Life on October 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at Faith Baptist Church, 11 Glenridge Road, Rexford, NY 12148.
