Dawn graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1971. She had been a member of the Eagles #227 in Marion. She enjoyed fishing and playing games on her iPad. She also liked going for motorcycle rides and crocheting. More than anything, though, Dawn cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Robert (Cinda Davis) Derry, Jr., of Huntington, Kelly (Shelly Starkey) Derry of Fairmount, Donnie (Nicole) Derry of Kokomo, and Ronnie (Angie) Wade of Kokomo; daughter, Kristi (Joshua) Hamilton of Swayzee; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Brooks, Cordie Sinclair, and Joyce Harland; plus several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cheyenne Carter and Johnny Carter; sister, Susie Scholes; and grandson, Creason Wade.
A funeral service to celebrate Dawn's life was held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Burial took place at Grant Memorial Park.
