Funeral services for Donald Lee Sharp of Hanceville will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 4, 2021 at Hanceville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Reverends Edwin Hays and Tom Richter will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Sharp was born on August 29, 1939 to Bernard and Hattie (McCoy) Sharp in Cullman, Alabama. He died at the age of 82 on October 1, 2021 at his residence in Hanceville. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard and an active member of the 1st Baptist Church in Cullman. Mr. Sharp also enjoyed Alabama football, playing golf, fishing, gardening, and listening to the Gaither's on Saturday evenings.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Welsh Sharp; children, Robbie (Shannon) Sharp, Kathy (Greg) Voce, Geoffrey (Caren) Ryan and Jennifer Swann; grandchildren, Chris (Carla) Gilliam, Brandi (Kenneth) Duncan, Kendall (Kortney) Sharp, Ethan Voce, Zachary Ryan, Mason (Hayden) Voce, Riley Voce, Destiny (Bobby) Mashburn; great grandchildren, Charis Gilliam, Kylee Gilliam, Auston Sharp, Oliver Mashburn and Weston Voce; sister, Linda (Buddy) Whitaker; sister-in-law, Ruth Sharp; brother-in-law, Leon White; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
