William D. Dougherty "Billy" age 70, passed away Wednesday September 29, 2021 in Penn State Health St. Joe's Medical Center, Reading. William was a son of Rita L. Dougherty and the late Dr. Joseph R. Dougherty. He was born and raised in Allentown, PA and moved to the Reading area in the late 90's.

Billy was a 10 year resident at Sacred Heart Villa before moving to Manor Care in Sinking Spring in January 2015. He attended classes for children with cerebral palsy at what was then Allentown Hospital. He was enrolled in special education classes in Allentown and at Salisbury High School. As a young man Billy was employed by LARC. For several years he also volunteered his time at the St. Thomas More School where he worked in the cafeteria as well as the church's rectory.

Billy is survived by his mother: Rita L. Dougherty. Brother: Robert J. and his wife Gwen (Eichlin) Dougherty. Nephew: R. Michael and his wife Amy (Andrzjewski) Dougherty. Niece: Kristen (Dougherty) Galazin wife of Joseph. Great-Nephews: Matthew and Gabriel. Great-Niece: Brenna.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday October 4, 2021 at 10:30AM in St. Thomas Moore Church 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown, PA 18103. Calling Hour will be 9:30AM-10:20AM in the vestibule of the Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Allentown.
