Lawrence P. Griffin, 89, of Highland, NY passed away September 24, 2021 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on March 12, 1932, in Newburgh, NY, the son of the late Thomas Griffin and Florence Puffer.
Lawrence served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars and was honorably discharged. He went on to work as a Supply Sergeant at West Point until his retirement.
On November 10, 1973, he married Marcia Dunn. His wife predeceased him in December 2013.
Lawrence is survived by his four daughters: Deborah Gruschow, Dreena Stevenson, Patricia Musgrove, Sherry Castro, his 3 sons: Larry Craig Griffin, Barry Greg Griffin and Patrick Griffin, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Terry Brent Griffin, his sisters: Elizabeth Costanzo and Catherine Griffin, his brothers: James Griffin, Harold Griffin, Louis Griffin and Francis Griffin, and stepson Joseph Dunn.
Calling hours will be from 4-6pm, Wednesday, September 29 at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St., Highland, NY 12528. A Funeral home service will take place at 5:30pm during the calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at a later date in the New Paltz Rural Cemetery Veterans Section.
