Delores "Joan" Hayes, 83, of Mannington, WV who passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Fairmont Medical Center.
She was born July 13, 1938 at Mannington, a daughter of the late William J. Hendershot and Helen Higginbotham Hendershot.

Joan is survived by her son, Dennis and Louise Hayes of Mannington; five grandchildren, Sandra and Donnie Malone of Mannington, William and Jessica Hayes of Irwin, PA, Hannah Hayes and significant other, Adam Hibbs of Mannington, Nicholas Hayes and significant other Kailyn Boyd of Mannington, and Rachael Hayes and significant other Dylan Stout of Mannington; 5 great-grandchildren, Bella, Jacob, Kimberly, Sophia and Liam; one brother, William (Becky) Hendershot of Mannington; three sisters-in-law, Juanita Mafield of Mannington, Barb Hayes of Mannington, and Dorothy Hendershot of Mannington; a brother-in-law, Jack Hayes of Hundred; several nieces and nephews and cousins; close friends in Norton, Ohio, Chris, Suzanne and Braxden Boyer, and Diane Ward with whom she was close too; and her longtime friend and companion, Ronald Powell Sr. of Mannington.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Everett Hayes who died on March 3, 1997; three siblings, Jean (Lloyd) Clark, Frederick Jack Hendershot, and Karen Sue (Ron) Kirsch; and her sister-in-law, Wilma "Jackie" Hendershot.

Joan was a graduate of Mannington High School Class of 1956. She lived 61 years in Akron/Norton area of Ohio. She was employed in the grocery store industry for A&P and Giant Eagle. She was a member of the Dents Run Baptist Church as well as the Grace Brethren Church of Norton during her time living in Ohio. Joan was a homemaker who enjoyed time with her church's widows group. She loved being a grandmother and valued her family very much!

Family and friends may call Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. in Mannington, WV on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 4, 2021 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Doug Cyphers officiating. Interment will follow at the Greene Cemetery on Dents Run.
