James Edward "Eddie" Tate, 67, resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 12 PM until 2 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 25th at 2 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Talley Cemetery.

Born on January 8, 1954, he was the son of Emily Spray Tate and the late James Tate. Eddie was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, tending to the cows, and playing horseshoes. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. Eddie was a member of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sheree Tate; son, James Curtis (Jenna) Tate of Clarksville; daughters, Jamey (Steven) Owen of Shelbyville, Tina (Richard) Woodard of Cornersville; brother, Danny Tate of Lewisburg; sisters, Priscilla Brewer of McBurg, Myra Carrol of Cornersville; and grandchildren, Tracy Wood, Brandon Owen, Jessie Woodard, Anna Wood, Carter Owen, Jacob Wood, and Wyatt Tate.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a son, James Edward Tate II and daughter, Misty Ann Tate.
