A 1974 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Cindy had worked for Ottumwa Pediatrics and had her own cake business. Cindy was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She watched and rewatched every game while yelling at the tv. She looked forward to the Iowa State Fair every year where she camped and worked her entire life. Cindy battled multiple sclerosis since her diagnoses in 2001.
Surviving are her children, Jenna (Joe) Maines of Ottumwa and Jeremy (Carmen) Brown of Forest Park, IL; 2 grandchildren, Jayden Maines and Roman Brown; 2 brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Sweeney of Bluffton, SC and Randy (Sharon) Sweeney of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. For those unable to attend the service, it may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Cremation will follow the service.
