Obituary for Jayne Lynn Ryan

Jayne Lynn Ryan, (Lady Jayne) 69, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully at the home, September 28, 2021. She was born on September 22, 1952, the daughter of James and Jacqueline Ryan.

She was a product of Blessed Sacrament School, Bishop Ward High School, and Washburn University. Being a lifelong area resident (KCK and Leawood), many will remember her from her roles in City Hall as part of the Right of Way Department, her work as a legal secretary, as well as sharing her talents as a Ceramic Arts instructor. But, many more will reflect on her numerous volunteer and philanthropic endeavors throughout the years.
She was a founding member of the Heartland Fire Historical Society and Museum, an extremely active member of the Junior League of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, a volunteer for the Heartland SPCA, an active founding member of the Colleens of the Top 'o the Mornin', a member of the Board of Directors for the KCK Police and Fire Department Credit Union, an active Board Member of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Kansas City, the director of the Hospital Gift Shop at St. Mary's Hospital, as well as numerous other efforts and organizations.
Jayne had an unquenched thirst for travel and the discovery of different cultures. Many grew to know her while sharing some of her extensive travel experiences through North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Ireland.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Schulz, two daughters, Jessica Schulz (Sam Rosenberg) and Angela Schulz, two brothers, James Ryan (Joyce) and John Ryan (Donna), as well as the many nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday, October 4, 2021, at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, KS, where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 5 at 11AM at Cathedral of St. Peters, 416 N. 14th St., Kansas City, KS.

Graveside services will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
