Catherine Marie Howlett, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Cora Howlett, East Main street, Arcade, at 1 a.m., Thursday, June 9, aged 15 years. Her death occurred just six months from the time of that of her father., and she had been sick for some time before his death.
She is survived by her mother, three brothers, Lee, John and Fay Jr. and by her grandparents and other relatives.
The funeral service will be held at the Baptist church, Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Katherine Marie Howlett was born January 24, 1912, the daughter of the late Faye Howlett and his wife, Cora Mason Howlett, in Arcade in the same house in which she died.
She has been a student of Arcade High School, in which she was in her second year. She was a member of the Girl Scouts, and an active member of the Arcade Baptist church and Sunday school, where she taught in the Junior School and also in the Sunday School. She was exceptionally bright, intelligent and studious, and had endeared herself to all her young companions.
The funeral services were held in the Baptist church, Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. J.R. Riley officiating. Burial was in Freedom cemetery. The Girl Scouts attended the funeral in a body, and six young friends acted as honorary pall bearers: Reginald Merville, Donald Stockin, James and Gerald Welles, E.C. Haskell and Cameron Anderson.
