Obituary

Delores Sylvia Brown transitioned peacefully on September 27, 2021, at Hamilton Continuing Care. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she was a lifelong resident of Trenton and its surrounding communities.

Delores attended Trenton Public Schools and graduated from Trenton High School. Following high school, she attended Wilfred Academy of Hair and Beauty Culture and worked as a beautician for more than 40 years. Delores also had a love for numbers and was a self-taught bookkeeper, working for Little People's College, Courtney Temple COGIC and Federated Accounting and Tax Service LLC.

Delores loved the Lord completely and was a faithful member of Courtney Temple Church of God in Christ (formerly Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ) for more than 50 years. "Ms. Delores", as she was affectionately known, was very active in church, committing her service to multiple ministries and auxiliaries including the Kitchen Committee, Finance Committee, Worship Choir, Senior Choir, and the Mother's Board. Delores loved any opportunity to fellowship with her church family, greeting everyone with a smile, a kind word, and a reminder of the goodness of the Lord. As a Sunday School teacher, she endeavored to teach all young people about God, his son Jesus, and their love for all people. Delores particularly enjoyed travelling to the annual Convention in Memphis, Tennessee with a van full of people and in 2002, Delores was honored as Member of the Year, a testament to her unparalleled love and devotion to God and her Church.

One of Delores's greatest passions was travel. She had a saying: "God created this big earth and I intend to see all of it!". If she didn't see all of it, she certainly tried her best! One of her

favorite ways to travel was by car; every summer, she would pack her van with a few grandkids, family members and her closest friends and hit the road! In addition to countless trips throughout the US by plane, train, or automobile, she also a world traveler. Some of her favorite destinations included the Caribbean, Alaska, and the continents of Africa, Europe, and South America. To commemorate her many voyages, she amassed a beautiful collection of dolls which were prominently displayed throughout her home.

Predeceased in death- Willie King Jones (Father), Lulu A Jones (Mother), Esau Courtney (Brother), Augustus William Jones Sr. (Brother) Doris Teresa Rodgers (Sister) Katie Jones (Sister) Karrie Kelsey (Sister).
