Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Morris Jones (1936-2012). They were married on August 16th, 1957. Also preceded by parents William Mason Cumberland (1915 - 2000) and Ida Mae Cross Cumberland (1916 - 2004) and brothers James Burke Cumberland (1946-1946) and William Mason Cumberland Jr. (1937-2006).
She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Chuck Stapp, sons, Jimmy (Donna) Jones, Jerry Jones, Jeff (Kathy) Jones, and her daughter, Janell (Mark) Witherspoon; 7 grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Jones, Matt (Lauren) Jones, Philip (Lianna) Witherspoon, Rebecca (Clay) Evans, Karry (Blythe) Jones, Eric Witherspoon, and Kate Witherspoon; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 foster great-grandchildren.
Jane graduated from Thompson High School in 1957. She and Morris married on August 16, 1957 and raised their four children together. Jane loved her family, painting ceramics, playing bridge, and traveling. After Morris passed away, she married Chuck Stapp on May 11, 2013. Jane was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbiana.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL at 10 a.m. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
