Mr. Larry Nelson Murray, 71, passed away Wednesday (September 29, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
He was born in Waycross to William Joe Murray and Wilma Lee Sweat Murray.
He was formerly employed with Guerdon Mobile Homes and Statler Mobile Homes but had worked for several farmers in the area most of his life. He attended Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Murray and Freddie Murray.
He is survived by three children,
Richard Murray (Vonda) of Mt. Vernon, IL,
Brandi Steedley of Homerville, and
Sandi Wilson of Homerville;
( an adopted daughter,) KeeKee Holmes of Homerville;
ten grandchildren,
Macey Ellis (Christian), Darra Murray, Ricky Murray, Preston Reich, Gunner Steedley (Taylor), Logan Wilson, Caleb Wilson, Clara Grace Steedley, Alex Murray, Madison Wilson, Daniel James, and David James
; 9 great grandchildren;
his mother, Wilma Lee Sweat Murray of Waycross
; three sisters,
Annette Ursrey (late Pat) of Waycross,
Jacqueline Snellgrove (Robert) of Waycross,
Annice Courson (late Larry) of Macclenny, FL;
two brothers,
Darrell Murray (late Thurza) of Baxley and
Dale Murray (Sandie) of Millwood;
close friend, Sam Higgs (Sheila) of Millwood;
his beloved dogs, Little Man and Lester;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday (October 2, 2021) at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood. Burial will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock.
