Jack Lee Cox, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021, Pearl Valley Rehabilitation Center in Gowrie, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Services will be held 11 am Friday, October 8, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will take place 9:30 am Monday October 11, 2021, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.

Jack was born July 16, 1936, in Des Moines, IA, to Vernice and Bertina (Frenz) Cox. He married Karen (Truman) Polson Cox on April 16, 1987, in Des Moines.

Jack joined the US Air Force at the age of 17. He became a Hydraulic Mechanic, flying all over the world to repair planes. He retired from the military in 1974. Jack then worked in manufacturing and at the golf course until he retired. Jack loved to golf and go camping all over the United States. He also liked to visit and winter in Texas, making many friends over the years.

Jack is survived by his wife, Karen Polson Cox; children; Karen's children, Joni, Greg, and Jay; grandchildren, Tim, Katy, Jady, Andrew, Ty, Shay, and Alyssa; as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Cox.
