Roy Lee Wilson, 94, of Valdosta, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was born on July 25, 1927 in Quitman, GA to the late Roy, Sr. and Vara Lee Adams Wilson. Roy was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and the United States Merchant Marines. He was a member of Abundant Life Church of God in Valdosta.
Roy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Beth Oxarart, of Winter Park, FL; their children, Delayne Carroll, Taylor Roy Oxarart and his wife Annie, Morgan Dabney; their grandchildren, Logan and Karlie Carroll, Quinn and Emmy Oxarart; his daughter, Kema Wilson Loo, of Riverside, CA; her children, Kalai Fawcett, Shawna Van Order, Amy Purcell, and Elizabeth Purcell; her grandchildren, Breanna Woods, Bridgett Fawcett, Daniel Fawcett, Kyla Van Order, Kade Van Order, Madison Purcell; his son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. Wilson, II and Carolyn Wilson, of Lake Park, GA, their six children, and nineteen grandchildren; his daughter, Robin J. Black, husband Robert C. Black, Jr. of Laguna Niguel, CA, her children, Taylor Black Hill, husband Franklin Hill of Laguna Hills, CA, Tory Black Smithe, husband Kyle Smithe of Sacramento, CA; her great grandchildren, Harrison Robert Hill and Holland Jane Hill, Finn Robert Smithe; his daughter Terri Ann Guilford and her husband Doug, of Quartsite, AZ; her children, Kristin Boyd, Kelly Kiesselbach, Robert Wilson Boyd, Cameron Boyd; her grandchildren, Nicolas Grothjan, Ryan Kiesselbach, Jessica, Baylee Kiesselbach, Chase Boyd, Cody Boyd, CJ Boyd; and her great granddaughter Rosealynn Lucero Kiesselbach; and his sister, Vera Lee Green, of Gray, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeane S. Wilson, and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 4pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.
