Cynthia "Cindy" Lynn McMonigle Bloom, age 65, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Bethesda North Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born on March 6, 1956, in Middletown, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Douglas W. and Margaret E. (Little) McMonigle. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1974. She and John wed on January 3, 1976 and began their lives together in New Market, where they raised their three children. Cindy worked as an interpreter for the deaf since the age of 18. Many in the community knew Cindy for her love for sign language and gift of imagery that she shared with her hands. She worked for the past twenty-five years at Southern State Community College in the financial aid office, where she offered an infectious welcome and warm smile to all who passed by. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, camping, reading, working in her flower gardens, singing, and riding on the motorcycle with her husband, John. She loved cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines of any sport or event. She was a beautiful woman who never knew a stranger and always offered an infectious personality that could brighten any room. She was a devout Christian who loved sharing and professing her faith with family, friends and new acquaintances. She loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed attending the Hollowtown Church of Christ. Above all, she loved endlessly. She adored her husband, children and grandchildren. She lived by her faith and shared that with her community through her selfless actions and inspirational being. Cindy is survived by her husband, John Bloom; three children, Laura (Brian) Byers of Pawnee, Illinois, Zach (Sarah Jacobson) Bloom of Bloomingburg, Ohio, and Emily (Matt) Jackson of Hillsboro, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Makenna Rae Byers, Magarah Addison Bloom, Maddyson Rian Byers, Meri Grace Jackson, Meyer Benjamin Bloom, Maggie Claire Jackson, Justin Scott Thompson, Joseph Andrew Thompson, and Paisley Kaye Thompson; four siblings, Kathryn Ingram of California, Kentucky, James Douglas (Cindy) McMonigle of Evans, Georgia, Jennifer (Bill) Woznicki of Sturgis, Michigan, and Rebecca (Jim) Newman of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Bloom of Hillsboro and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Warren McMonigle and a brother-in-law, Dan Ingram. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at the Southern State Community College. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at the Southern State Community College. Bob Cockrell will be officiating. Burial will follow services on Tuesday, October 5th in the New Market Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SSCC Foundation in memory of Cindy Bloom, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
