JamescJ. Plummer Sr., at age 91, an avid, lifelong NY Giants fan, of Florida, and Coventry, RI passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Barbara A. (Sheridan) Plummer in 2000.

He was a son of the late William H. and Grace A. (McLaughlin) Plummer. James was the brother of the late William H. and John N. Plummer.

He was the devoted father of Jacqueline (Stephen), Janet (Michael), James, and Joseph (Eddie); the caring grandfather and Papa to Paul Satterfield III, and his best friend Caitlin Thomas and Jamie Salisbury; and the proud great-grandfather of Ashlyn and Caroline Satterfield, Alexander Salisbury, Kaitlyn and Daniel Taylor.

Jim (Papa) was born in Providence, moved to Coventry in 1960 and resided there for 40 years. He then made his home with his daughter Janet, husband Michael and family @ Nuthouse in Warwick, and then Casselberry, Florida. Due to health reasons, he moved back to Coventry in 2019 to the Riverview Health Center.

He was a four year Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, from 1951 ~ 1955. Mr. Plummer worked in NARF QPNAS for 24 years as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic.

He was a supervisor and planner at Electric Boat, Quonset Point for 16 years before retiring.

Mr. Plummer was a committee chairman for Boy Scout Troop 2 Phenix. He was a past President of the Pawtuxet Valley Sr. Babe Ruth league and a former member of the Phenix Sportsman Club. He was a volunteer at the Pawtuxet Valley St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen for over 20 years.

He was a devoted communicant and parishioner of Saints Peter & Paul Church in West Warwick for almost 45 years.

His funeral will be Monday, October 4, 2021 from the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial in Saints Peter & Paul Church. Interment with military honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Visiting hours were held on Sunday evening.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 20 Washington St., West Warwick, RI 02893 would be appreciated. In accordance with COVID-19 precautions, if you are not fully vaccinated, please wear an appropriate face covering. iannottifh.com
