Professional Baseball Player. He was the "Homerun King" of the minor leagues. Hit 63 home runs for Baltimore of the International League in 1930. In 1933, he hit 69 home runs--a professional record at the time--for the Minneapolis Millers. Hauser acquired his nickname while playing in his hometown for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1920. Fans would say "Das ist Unser Choe," German for "This is our Joe." In 1924, playing for the Philadelphia Athletics, Hauser hit 27 home runs, second in the league to Babe Ruth.
