Regina was born to the loving parents of Alton and Clifton Mae Smith, who preceded her in death. Being the youngest of fourteen siblings, Regina accepted Christ at a very early age and maintained her commitment to the faith until death. Regina was an enthusiastic Bible scholar, spending much of her free time in the Word.
Regina was educated in the Drew MS school system. She was a graduate of Drew High School, Class of 1985. She continued her formal learning at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville TN. She completed her degree at Bethel University of McKenzie TN.
Regina had a very fruitful work career of more than 35 years. She began her career with the Drew Police Department as a dispatcher. After relocating to Tennessee, she worked several years for Lyondell Basell. She later relocated to Texas, where she spent a combined tenue of more than fifteen years working for Ineos Olefins & Polymers USA and WL Plastic.
Regina was loved by all she ever met. She was the baby of the family, but always full of profound wisdom and kindness. She had a special gift for cooking. Being that she was the baby, the older siblings designated her to be the "Family Gathering Cook alongside her brother". Regina loved decorating and making the most distinct floral arrangements, not only for her home but for others as well. She enjoyed shopping so much that she would shop virtually with her sister and niece for hours on ends. She had a special relationship with each of her nieces and nephews, telling each of them, "you're my favorite".
Regina was the apple of her siblings eyes; the following siblings preceded her in death; James E. Smith, Elma J. McElroy, Martha A. Wicks, and Burner Smith.
Regina leaves to cherish her memories her son, Ishmael Smith of Houston TX, five brothers; Frank Smith (Wyona) of Zionville IN, Clifton J. Smith (Earlene) of Chicago IL, Charles E. Smith (Mary) of South Holland IL, Eddie L. Smith (Laurna) New Orleans LA, Edwin J. Smith (Vescia) of Drew MS; four sisters; Linda Gauthreaux of Oak Lawn IL, Rebecca Smith-McMullen of Drew MS, Patricia Marshall(Andre) of Ontario CA, and Earnestine Smith of Caldwell ID, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
