Elizabeth "Betty" E. Coles-Cook, 103, of Indian River passed away Wednesday morning
September 29, 2021 at home. Betty was born November 24, 1917 in Elizabeth New Jersey to Joseph and Mary (Gillis) Bogas. She spent her early years in the east then the family moved to the Detroit area where she attended High School thru the 11th grade.
In August of 1938 she married Rance Coles in Bowling Green OH. They were married for almost 35 years before he passed in June of 1973. Then in 1978 she married Harold Cook who also preceded her in death. Betty enjoyed pottery and any kind of artistry, playing cards, fishing and enjoyed traveling between Texas and Florida and volunteering at the Senior Center in Topinabee. She was a member of the F.O.E..
Betty is survived by her children James (Donna) Coles, Larry (Sharon) Coles, Harold (Carolyn) Cook, Elenore (Bob) Ide and daughter in law Arlene Coles.
Grandchildren Elizabeth Coles-Baker (Tim), Mary Coles-Prueter (Tim), Dawn Coles-Balch (David), Janet Coles-Rickard, Michelle Coles, Dawn Cook, Crystal Sowles, Sheri O'Conner and Stacey Curley. Great grandchildren Alex, Serena, Lincoln, Ruimanna, Joshua, Nicole, Christina, Rance, Lynsie, Andrew, Bradley, Brittany, John Jr., Christopher, Khristine, Matthew, Sara and Grace and 20+ Great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands her son Robert Coles 1 grand child and 5 great great grandchildren.
There will be a service at the Stone Funeral home & Cremation Services of Indian River at 1PM on Tuesday October 5, with a visitation from 11 to 1, with burial to follow at
Oakhill Cemetery Indian River.
